Consorzio per la Tutela del formaggio Monte Veronese DOP

  • CONSORZIO PER LA TUTELA DEL FORMAGGIO MONTE VERONESE DOP
  • Vicolo Mattielli, 11 37038 – Soave (VR)

Already active since the ’70s as a voluntary association of producers in the area of Verona, the Consortium for the protection of Monte Veronese cheese was founded in 1983. The Monte Veronese PDO obtained its recognition in 1996. Its aim is to ensure that only cheese complying with the production specification can be sold as Monte Veronese.

The Consortium is set to defend, protect and promote the production and trade of all recognized types of Monte Veronese PDO cheese: “Latte intero”, “d’Allevo” and “d’Allevo made with Alpine milk” (placed under the protection of the Slow Food Presidium), which differ in terms of production techniques, altitude of pastures and aging.

The Consortium promotes and organizes activities to protect the typicality and the unique characteristics of the Monte Veronese cheese, through information, publications and participation to events, fairs and tastings.
