The protection Consortium was established in 1970 in Soave, in the province of Verona, with the name Consorzio Tutela Vini Soave e Recioto di Soave. It gathers most of the production and includes a significant participation of the professional categories interested in the winemaking and marketing of the DOCGs and DOCs of the area: Soave DOC, Soave Superiore DOCG and Recioto di Soave DOCG.

The Consortium’s main objective is to protect, defend and promote viticulture in this area, in order to increase knowledge, spread awareness and favour enhancement of its excellences.

The Consortium represents over 2,500 farms and, with the collaboration of universities and research institutes, it constantly promotes research and initiatives aimed at improving wine-growing techniques and wine production, enhancing knowledge of the soil and of biotypes, ensuring the protection of biodiversity and increasing the ability to face the challenges of climate change.
